\"\"<\/a>Working with young families has been such a privilege for me.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Watching each family grow and develop is always exciting and unique.\u00a0 Each new child brings a new perspective to this world.\u00a0\u00a0 The world is a big place.\u00a0 Each new child is small and their world is small at first.\u00a0 Mom and dad and maybe siblings make up their world.\u00a0 It is a new beginning.\u00a0 They quickly learn and adapt to this small world.\u00a0 The world gets vastly bigger and bigger as they grow. \u00a0 Each minute, each day and each year builds into new experiences that help that child grow and evolve.\u00a0 Each child starts out with a game plan.\u00a0 The nature of who they are and how they react to their environment is already there at birth.\u00a0 Some of it is instinctive and some of it can be influenced by early caretakers.\u00a0 They need a strong bond of feeling secure, feeling loved.<\/p>\n

For parents, the world gets smaller when a new child is born.\u00a0 They start looking inward, rather than outward.\u00a0 Trying with all their might to create that safe and loving environment for a new child.\u00a0 It isn’t easy.\u00a0 It is a new beginning.<\/p>\n

My family is always working to maintain that safe and loving environment, while trying to find the balance of\u00a0 growth and ability to adapt to that vastly, expansive world. \u00a0 I seem to control the “small” world at times, but the “big” world is completely out of my control.\u00a0 As a parent, I sometimes feel I have no control over any of it.\u00a0 I only have control over my reaction to it.\u00a0 I can get frustrated or depressed when I can’t get my crying infant to sleep or I can recognize this is temporary and normal.\u00a0\u00a0 I can’t always recognize what is temporary and normal.\u00a0 I need to know or be reminded what is “normal”.\u00a0 I need support.\u00a0 I need encouragement.\u00a0 All parents do.<\/p>\n

New beginnings are for starting again.\u00a0 My family moved to the NW Michigan.\u00a0 I grew up just outside of the Detroit city limits.\u00a0 I am a country girl who happened to be born and raised in the city. \u00a0\u00a0 We are trying to live a rural life and provide a safe, secure environment for our children.\u00a0 One in which we tread a little softer on the earth and appreciate all its blessings.\u00a0\u00a0 It is a NEW BEGINNING.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
